Comments about Coral Coast Jeweled Metal Arch Arbor with Planters:

This product was relatively easy to assemble, and the finished product is attractive. However, a couple of the holes for the cross bracing in the arch were drilled in the wrong place, and though the manufacturer did drill holes in the right place as well, the extra holes are still there, and there's nothing to fill them in with. Not the best craftsmanship. Also, we noticed that one of the jewels was missing. We did find it in the packaging, and hot-glued it back on. Overall, though, we're happy with it!

Comments about Coral Coast Jeweled Metal Arch Arbor with Planters:

I bought this arbor a few months ago and had workmen put it up a few hours ago. The arbor is sturdy and I was careful to measure for fit prior to ordering it. Be sure to note its height and width and depth and measure the spot where you want to put it. I had to note the height of a drain pipe that prevented me from getting a taller arbor. I wanted this set close to the house so that a blooming vine could be put on it near our seating area in our back yard. I would have preferred that the arbor not have the planters in it - so I had the workmen saw out the bottoms of each planter. I live in a very hot dry area - the Dallas area - and a plant in a pot is a death sentence for the plant unless it is watered daily. Since we are on water restrictions in the summer - we cannot water every day. So, a plant needs too root deeply to survive and that necessitated sawing out the bottom of the planters. I selected the arbor because of its style and size. The arbor does have moderately attractive jewels on the top of it, but really , they will never show if a vine does well on the arbor. Hopefully the vine will cover those jewels, reflecting that the vine is healthy and lush. I had already planted a vine in the ground a few months ago to grow over the arbor. In a perfect world, I would have put the harbor up first and then planted the vine. So, since we had a delay in getting workmen to get this done, the vine had grown like crazy over the summer. We had to bind the vine - like one binds a Christmas tree to get it on top of a car or in a box, then "thread" it through the bottom of the planter as we set he planter in place. The planter was a perfect fit for the place selected and the vine was a perfect fit with eh planter over its base. I then unbound the rope cording, and used some plant wire and plant velcro strips to start the vine over the arbor. I took a couple of photos ( I will try to attach them to the review). ( My apologies - I have attempted to attach photos, and my photos were taken vertically. For some reason Hayneedle puts the photos on their side. I have attempted several times to correct this - the problem is on the Hayneedle side.) Note that the circle medallion on the wall behind the arbor will be coming down, and the fireplace vent will have to be painted a color complementary to the wall to "hide" it. The arbor highlights the vent, so it will need some camouflage . The men putting the arbor together remarked on how sturdy the arbor was as they were assembling it. They had no trouble getting it together. Obviously, the healthy vine that is now centered in the left planter, growing in the ground, will help hold this in place if a gust of wind comes up. They also zip tied the right side of the arbor to a nearby gutter pipe - I know - sounds like it might be bad for the drain pipe, but the pipe is affixed quite well to the house, and the arbor is not pulling on it as it rests in place. It is a precaution for wind issues. We don't want this arbor to blow over in some of the high winds that we get in back of the house. The arbor is darker than is reflected in the hay needle photo. It is really a dark brown. So, if you want it lighter, paint it. While I would have liked the lighter color better, the vine will soon cover the arbor and the precise color won't matter. All in all, I think this is a well made item and would recommend it.

Comments about Coral Coast Jeweled Metal Arch Arbor with Planters:

This picture does not do this arbor justice. The color is just lovely especially with the jewels so subtle, but they just set it off. We have it as an entrance to our picking garden and it is so much nicer than we expected. Because this was going on grass, my husband set two cinder blocks in concrete. He placed the planter boxes on the blocks and bolted them in. This also created drainage holes for the plants and we never have to worry about it going over. As usual hayneedle great product.

Comments about Coral Coast Jeweled Metal Arch Arbor with Planters:

I loved this arbor so much I went back and ordered a second one. We put it going over the gate to my pool then bought another for the gate going into my yard. My husband put the sides on backwards with the planters on the outside to fit our 48 inch gate openings. The Arbor looks just as nice this way. We copied another purchaser and drilled holes in the planters and raised the Arbor off the ground with stripes of wood to help ward off the rusting and extend the beauty of this Arbor.

Comments about Coral Coast Jeweled Metal Arch Arbor with Planters:

Much better quality than Arbor it replaced. Easy to assemble. The specifications list the inside width as 48 Inches. At the narrowest point (between planter boxes) it is only 40.5 inches. Of course you cannot determine that until it is put together and placed outside the gate.

One huge problem that caused a lot of extra installation time, and my main concern after the dismantling of the old RUSTED Arbor ... RUST was a huge concern for me. This is advertised as made of IRON vs Steel, which should resist rust better than my old one (lasted 12 years, but its planter containers were not on the ground with excellent drainage). I was (am) greatly concerned about the planter boxes, as there are no drain holes, and the base, without legs, would rest directly on the ground, which is a recipe for RUST. But the arbor is so pretty and sturdy, I decided to correct the size and rust problems rather than return it. I bought 2" X 2" pressure treated wood, as runners under the planters and screwed them on the base. Drilled 3 - 1/2" drain holes and painted them with brown Rustoleum, and then placed the boxes on cement slabs, rather than on dirt. By the way, there was one seam inside one planter box where a small amount of rust was visible - painted over. I also plan on putting a plastic liner inside box (with drainage holes. That should make it easier to replace dirt when changing plants). Cost less than $20.00 but it should give me many added years. Because of the curve, the inside dimension was not as big a problem as expected, as my gate is extra wide anyway. Very pleased with it! Sturdy and good design. I also touched up assembling nuts where paint came off during assembly. Rustoleum brown is pretty close to match the color.

It really is nicer in real life than the pics. Plus is huge with plenty of space to walk through it. We are very happy. We will be growing grape vines over this. But it already looks great in the garden.
