We followed a recipe given to us at Williams & Sonoma where we bought the 3-piece pasta roller & cutter set. The attachments were easy to install on our Kitchen Aid Pro 600 mixer, and with a little practice, we set about making 2-1/2 pounds of fettucine on our first try! Rave reviews by all six people at dinner. I even added some of the leftover noodles to my homemade chicken soup - it added just the right amount of bulk without weighing down the soup.
Don't give up if the dough crackles up a bit on the first try through the roller. Just knead it a little, make it a bit smaller, and send it through on the #1 setting until it stays together. Then fold it in half, move the notch up by one, and send it through again. Continue until you reach the thickness you want. For us, #4 was perfect. I highly recommend these attachments to complete your Kitchen Aid experience!

I was so excited to finally own this attachment! This, being my number one attachment on my wish list, i was ecstatic when i actually did get it! I couldn't wait to bust it open and try that baby out! I got all the ingredients (Semolina was harder to find around here so it took a day or two) and made the dough. The dough came out fantastic and rolled perfectly with the pasta roller attachment. When it came time for the ravioli, i made sure to read all the instructions.. twice, to be sure i got it correct. Did as it said with the practice runs to "perfect the technique". I stuffed my raviolis with cheese, wanted to start out easy being the first time. The roller did not seal, not a SINGLE one. I was disappointed and tried a new technique. The second set did the same exact thing the filling was also bursting out of the unsealed pockets. I decided to re-read the instruction manual thinking that it was user error. Made a third set and turned out the same exact way. I mad sure that the pasta sheets were correctly placed on the rollers and made sure that it cover all the ends thinking that that was why my filling was leaking out and that they weren't sealing, that was not the problem. I was very disappointed. As i laid the unsealed, leaking, gooey pasta on the flour dusted wax paper to dry, it just turned into a large mush pile. I expected so much from this attachment and felt let down. I talked to a few friends and coworkers that have this same attachment and they all had the same problem, none of the raviolis sealed and ended up throwing them away. Sad that i wasted the time and ingredients for such a disaster. Hoping that kitchenaid finds the problem and fixes or comes up with a new/better attachment. I love all my kitchenaid products and I've never had any problems with any. I definitely wouldn't recommend this attachment. disappointed, to say the least.

Doesn't work in the long run

By Steve

from Guilford, CT

Comments about KitchenAid KRAV Ravioli Maker - Stainless Steel:

I use this attachment often. After dough got caught and the pin sheared inside-- I was very disappointed to find no replacement parts available.

I'm stumped!

By Joe

from Rhinebeck, NY

Comments about KitchenAid KRAV Ravioli Maker - Stainless Steel:

After spending half an hour on the phone with a kitchenaid rep, I'm giving up. He couldn't explain (and the documentation didn't even mention) why there were metal rods holding plastic combs in place under each cutter rod on the underside of both my spaghetti and linguini cutters. Are they just for packing and should be removed? Why was one of them dislodged and at the bottom of the box? Are they essential for using? Why was the rep stumped. Don't know what to do.

Sheared drive nut on Kitchenaid Pasta Roller

By Francesco

from Rome, Italy

Comments about KitchenAid KRAV Ravioli Maker - Stainless Steel:

I'm sorry to say I'm really disappointed because of poor durability and lack of spare parts for the Pasta Roller.
After a few uses the conductor pin has made a clean break. The dough I use is usually of medium strength and well malleable, so I don't think the break is due to overexertion. By Kitchen Aid I am expecting a superior product consistency.

Love the roller, the cutters do not cut

By Tobey

from Rockport MA

Comments about KitchenAid KRAV Ravioli Maker - Stainless Steel:

I have had these for a long time now, but the cutters do not cut, I have tried extra flour, making them thick or thin, it doesn't matter.....rolling out the dough is great......just can't cut it into noodles through the machine.....

Waste of good lobster.

By Xena_mom

Comments about KitchenAid KRAV Ravioli Maker - Stainless Steel:

Tried making ravioli. It was a pain trying to feed in the stuffing a little bit at a time, the dough kept tearing, and it made a big mess.

Retired My Atlas

By A. Leckew

from Sammamish, WA

Comments about KitchenAid KRAV Ravioli Maker - Stainless Steel:

I grew up making pasta with my Nana and great aunts - so over 45 years. My hand crank Atlas is great, but it's hard to feed sheets, crank and receive the sheets on the other end. This attachment is like having an extra hand and I love it. Functions exactly like my hand crank machine. I Highly recommend this!

Love my pasta cutter set

By Teresa

Comments about KitchenAid KRAV Ravioli Maker - Stainless Steel:

I received this as a gift. I followed the directions and made perfect noodles first time. This is by far my favorite attachment. Fun to make pasta with no preservatives and the cleanup is simple.

Do not buy!!!

By Tkd mom

from Fallston, MD

Comments about KitchenAid KRAV Ravioli Maker - Stainless Steel:

I purchased this for my husband for Christmas. He has since used it 3 times and every time he ends up making them by hand anyway. This thing crumples the dough and makes a mess of the filling. Complete waste of money!

Loved it, but then...

By Irenecooks

from Beaufort, MO

Comments about KitchenAid KRAV Ravioli Maker - Stainless Steel:

5 Star for it's function when it works. 1 star for durability and inability to purchase replacement parts.
Loved this roller. Made making homemade ravioli a dream. Used it about 5 times. Went to use it last night and the rollers wouldn't move. Worked perfectly the last time we used it. After inspection the stud that drives the rollers had sheared cleanly off. I expect more from the Kitchenaid Brand, especially for the price of the item. Is there a way to replace just this part?

Works great!

By Peter

from St Paul

Comments about KitchenAid KRAV Ravioli Maker - Stainless Steel:

My rollers work fine - good quality construction, easy to use, my 8-year old uses the cutters after I roll the dough. Much better than a hand-crank model - I only wish they made a linguine and pappardelle cutters
