This is my second Nicaraguan hammock - my dog chewed a hole in the first one. I don't think you can find a more comfortable type of hammock. I've tried rope hammocks, camping hammocks, fabric hammocks, and synthetic poolside hammocks, but this Nicaraguan hammock is by far the most comfortable. For many years I relied on rope hammocks when relaxing between the columns of our terrace (back porch). Unless you lie on a blanket, however, those ropes really dig into your back. This is not the case with Nicaraguan hammocks. The tight weave is extremely comfortable; it conforms to your body and cradles you like no other type of hammock.
The only thing I would suggest for this hammock (and any hammock with wooden spreader bars) is some sort of abrasion protection where the lines pass through the wood. I used small pieces of vinyl tubing - with a slit cut in the sides in order to get them around the lines. If you do this, try to get tubing that fits snugly into the holes that go through the spreader bars.

This is a good quality product, however I also purchased the Island Bay Nautical and liked it better.
The Caribbean is uncomfortable for two people unless you want to be ontop of each other plus it would stretch a little bit too much due to the weight. I weigh about 155 and it stretched a lot and I had to put the hammock to a higher level to not touch the ground. This hammock really pulls at you inwards the left and right arms which makes it a little uncomfortable. Its definitely very stretchy. I personally like it more firm. Its also hard to read a book with this because your arms are uncomfortable because you are sinking in and your arms cant get comfy being pushed in on. This was a very quality construction and sturdy for its type.

I bought this Hammock as a Mother's Day Gift to Myself and I am totally Satisfied with my Purchase... I had shopped around and could not find the color or material I liked... when I saw this one and the variety of colors I knew this one was for me! I just moved into my new home in South Texas. I decided to buy myself a house warming gift & your hammock was it. I had two palm trees the perfect distance apart. I even commented to my daughter as we were looking at the house to consider buying what a great spot for a hammock. I hung it tonight, myself & my pooch climbed into it to watch another amazing sunset. Can't wait to have my grand daughter over so we can climb in & have her read to me. Great product & fast service.

This is the first hammock I've owned. I bought it on sale during the winter and couldn't wait for spring to set it up. It is very lovely and I've had compliments on how nice it looks. I fall asleep in it everytime I get in and put on my headphones to listen to a book. The only complaint I have is the tassles. They haven't lasted. Every week i'll find another tassle on the ground. Also the wood looks grey after one summer in the sun. I thought it would retain the color as it was when I bought it. I love how comfortable it is. Definitely would buy it again (maybe without the tassles).
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This is better than expected,, I bought one of those w/out the spreader bars that puts you in a cocoon you cant get out of!! Its ok just a hassle getting all the strings staightemed out and set up!! This kind is much better and more comfortable!
