Care
POLYWOOD® material is made of HDPE plastic resin that has been purified and UV protected. It is generally cared for and cleaned with soap and warm water.
For certain stains and additional cleaning power, a 1/3 bleach and 2/3 water solution can be used on the product without affecting the color.
Also, a popular method of cleaning is a high-pressure power wash. (Not to exceed 1,500 psi, which is the equivalent of a car wash.) The surface characteristics of the product may require the use of a soft bristle brush to get into the creases.
The hardware used in the assembly and construction of our furniture is an 18-8 commercial-grade stainless steel that has an additional Xylan protective and cosmetic coating. Although the quality of the hardware has a high level of corrosive resistance, the hardware can show some sign of corrosion in salt air environments.
A practical solution to these signs of corrosion would be to wash the product with soap and water. Use a soft bristle brush to scrub the corroding areas of the hardware. Also, use appliance touch-up paint in the appropriate color to protect the hardware. Appliance touch up-paint can be purchased at local hardware stores.

Most people have the basic wood color rocker or chair on their porch. Mine is awesome! The other items on my porch have a "beach" theme and these rockers blend right in. I bought 2 of these chairs for outdoor use by my fire pit thinking they would stand up to the elements in the Northeast (NJ).
The color was nice (Mahogany) and I put the chairs together rather quickly. 35 min for the first one and 16 min for the second one. I would recommend using a cordless screw gun and a 7/16 cresent wrench to hold the lock nut in place.
All the reviews I read said the chair was comfortable and didn't need cushions, but I think this is comletely wrong. The chair is very uncomfortable and I couldn't sit for longer than 15 min without my butt hurting.
I'm 5'9" (175 lbs) and my wife is smaller than me and she was also uncomfortable. My 11 year old thought it was good though, so maybe the other customers were 11 year olds??
The good news is that Hayneedle will take them back and the total shipping costs using their rate is $35 for the two chairs. I took them completely apart in 8 min each and boxed them up. The return service so far, has been excellent.
Bottom line: These chair are very uncomfortable and not good for long periods of sitting. (Oh, and if you thought of adding a cushion, they are not very deep or wide, so it feels awkward with a cushion).

This rocking chair looks per the pictures to be fairly good size, however, the back does not even come to the nape of my neck - and my husband is even taller! This is not a comfortable rocking chair, which I unfortunately found out when I put it all together.
