Comments about Meade MA 12mm Illuminated Reticle Astrometric Telescope Eyepiece 1.25 Inch Wireless:

Lots of bells and whistles on this particular reticle if you are only dealing with simple parallel crosshairs to help with guiding a star for astrophotography. The first half of the eyepiece has a pattern that looks like the opening of the movie "Brainstorm" (1983). Since publishing a substantial number of articles and pictures in the eighties and nineties in S&T and Astronomy, recticles of this type are rather overwhelming...especially if the astrophotographer is a novice.

I bought this to help with star alignment.always never sure if the star was exactly centered in the eyepiece, but with this eyepiece there is no more guesswork,,lots of scales that will be usful for various projects, etched scale is easy to focus in,and
variable LED gives you plenty of brightness,,great price from Hayneedle..

Comments about Meade MA 12mm Illuminated Reticle Astrometric Telescope Eyepiece 1.25 Inch Wireless:

For the price this is a great little alignment eyepiece. The dial is packed with all sorts of features. And the best part was the instructions which detailed usage for all the different scales. Very refreshing after so many astronomy products don't come with anything.

Comments about Meade MA 12mm Illuminated Reticle Astrometric Telescope Eyepiece 1.25 Inch Wireless:

This is a nice piece of equipment if you need something for guiding or alignment. I bought it to align my mount, and also to use with a beamsplitter diagonal for spectroscopy. The reticle illuminator works well, and it is easy to adjust the eyepiece to focus the recticle. Once calibrated you can use it for many types of measurement.
