This design is further embellished with piping that conceals its snap closure. This piece is fully lined with a suede fabric to protect surface finishes from scratching. Remove the lift-out tray to reveal more storage compartments in the bottom. This piece measure 10.5 inches long by 7.5 inches wide and is just 4 inches tall.

About Mele
Emidio Mele, an Italian immigrant to the United States, came to New York City in 1896 and learned to make jewelry boxes as an apprentice before founding Mele Manufacturing in 1912. He began by designing and building elegant displays for jewelry store windows. His jewelry box-making business grew throughout the 1900s, responding to demands for boxes to hold Purple Hearts during WWII and developing as a popular household name for quality jewelry boxes. Today Mele Jewelry Box is known as the Mele Companies, which encompass various divisions under the Mele name. Now based in Utica, N.Y., Mele still upholds the family atmosphere on which it was founded and remains America's foremost name in jewelry cases.

I have arthritis in my hands and have a bit of a time getting the smaller items out of the sections. I brought out a pair of tweezers and that helps a lot. But, I wonder if in the future you might include small plastic inserts that could be placed in the sections, so that you could just lift the jewelry out and dump it in your hand. I have two small inserts and they are great, but I don't have nearly enough and they are impossible to find. All in all, I love it and I will continue to use the tweezers to access my tiny earrings. I was pleased when this arrived in the mail... it really is a nice looking jewelry box. It's perfect for earrings, rings and simple necklaces. You can take the "organizer" out and have an open space as well.

I love earrings & had 2 drawers full of boxes and a big jewelry box with rings, earrings, bracelets & pendants. It took me a long time to pick through boxes to find earrings. Now I have all my earrings in the top sections and earrings with pendants in the bottom sections which are deeper. Now I have l l/2 drawers empty for clothes and it takes me a few seconds to find earrings to match my outfit. I even organized by gold or silver sections. The faux leather is very good quality and each section is lined with soft sueded material. The only caution I have is that you have to hold the top sections by the edges because the separators come out of the jewelry box when you remove it to get to the bottom layer. I have been very pleased with this purchase (my first at Hayneedle).

I just received it and was very pleased with the quality. It is a gift for my grandaughter, and I can't wait to see what she thinks of it. Besides being very well made, and holding lots of items in a small space, I love the flexibility of being able to remove any number, and any direction of the dividers. She hopes to get her ears pierced, and this will let her keep each pair in its own section. I would definitely recommend this one, and it was on sale!! Thanks.
