Description
The Hillsdale Mercer Metal Daybed is a beautiful Victorian-style daybed perfect for reading, relaxing, or napping. This dark bronze-finished daybed is crafted from fully welded, poured aluminum and super-durable, heavy-gauge tubing and wire. Sturdy aluminum castings and old-fashioned-looking metal provide a quaint, antique feel. Ornately carved flourishes and sleigh-style posts will be a beautiful focal point to any room. A daybed support system is included. Optional trundle available. Note: Trundle and mattress are both optional and not included with basic set.
Optional mattress is the Orthopedic Back Aid Mattress. This quality mattress features a Sta-rite quilted cotton/polyester pad and a patented Aerolife bonded cotton pad made with high-performance fibers that extend the life of the mattress. Rolled inner spring coils take the pressure off your back, while a Damask quilted layer on one side enhances your comfort. Twin size measures 75L x 39W x 7.5H inches. Carries a three-year manufacturer's warranty.
A trundle is an extra mattress frame stored beneath a daybed, which slides out to provide additional sleeping space when needed. Daybeds.com's optional trundle packages include a metal, pop-up trundle. They can be left in the lowered position or elevated in the pop-up position to align with the primary daybed mattress. The pop-up feature allows the daybed to transform from a twin-size daybed into a king -size bed.

This is our third purchase of the Mercer Metal Daybed. My wife uses one for her bed and the other is being made available for guests. It is a beautiful piece of furniture. We bought the other one for our young granddaughters. It has a trundle for the little one. They were easy to put together and she just love them. Thank you Hayneedle for a wonderful daybed.

Very nice heavy solid daybed, beautiful. I have been looking for a daybed. Perfect in my small guest room. The only problem-when shipped one of the rollers for the pop-up trundle was broken. My husband said he can change it. So glad did not want the hassle of shipping the entire trundle back.

I do not hand out good reviews easily, but I was very impressed by the quality of construction. I purchased a daybed from a well known furniture store in the past, and it did not hold up well, but this bed is amazingly sturdy. The support system that comes with this bed is top rate! There's no lack of detail or cheap materials here. I fully expect to use this bed for a lifetime.
