I order this buffet and cabinet, it ships in 4 large boxes. The buffet is sold on it's own but you can only find the top cabinet sold with the buffet. I wish it was sold separately because I would have returned the top after all the grief we went through to assemble it.
The bottom went together *fairly* easily, it takes two people and it is not a quick process. Plan on a few hours as the instructions are not always easy to understand, and in some cases they are actually incorrect. Assembly is not for the faint of heart or for a quarreling couple, you may end up separated at the end of this process.
The top piece is where I lost my desire to ever buy another piece of self-assembled furniture ever again. My husband of little patience wanted to smash it to bits and return it.
I had two defective parts, fortunately the first piece to assemble was one of the problems. Unfortunately, we had unwrapped all of the parts and had them spread out all over our kitchen, along with the huge refrigerator sized box it came in. Now we had to repack everything to wait for replacement part - only one part was shipped even though I had damage to a shelf, I was told they wouldn't replace it because you wouldn't see it once assembled. Whatever, but that's pretty bad customer service!! Save yourself some time and DO NOT fill out the form online for replacements, CALL THEM. You'll waste a day getting it shipped and answering questions.
Fast forward one week, parts have arrived. unpack everything for the second time only to find out the replacement part has the correct part ID label on it, BUT IT IS MISLABELED AND IS THE WRONG PART! Repack all the junky product back in the box and get on the phone to get the right one.
Fast forward ANOTHER WEEK, finally get past Step ONE with the correct part. Get it almost fully assembled only to find the part they didn't agree to replace is defective! the holes are drilled in the wrong places for the cam locks. No fixing or hacking your way around this! I am now livid that this ginormous thing is partially assembled in the middle of my kitchen so there is no way to pack it all back up in the box. I 1000% would have sent this back if I could have.
I realize buying this kind of furniture is going to result in a less than wonderful, high quality piece but come on! How hard is it to drill holes in the right place? Where is your quality inspection? Do you have any? If you do, you need to fire them and retrain some new monkeys. The ones you have don't do a very good job.
