Most of Prepac's RTA products are made from a combination of "engineered woods." Engineered Wood is a mixture of high quality hard and soft wood materials, which generally come from the surplus of original lumber processing. These materials are bonded together with a synthetic resin in a process under high heat and pressure to make a very stable, environmentally friendly product. The result is dense, strong panels, which are then laminated with durable, attractive finishes.

It does not provide hardware for attaching it to the metal bed frame. But we were able to pick up screws and attach it easily.
We had to cut a hole in the back of the shelves to run wires for electronics (clock, lamp, etc.) Otherwise it should suit our purposes for my teenage son just fine.
Service and delivery comments:
I ordered 2, one for each of my children. One arrived damaged but customer service was very helpful and gave me prepaid return shipping. I am still waiting for my replacement. Hopefully it will be usable.

The design is simple and functional. Works for kids or guest room with not much use. The color turned out to be darker than expected. Assembly was a bit complicated and it is particle board not real wood. This is what I expected for the price. It will serve its purpose for now, but won't be a long lived piece of furniture.

Great for kids books and favorite items. The assembly was a little confusing and one hinge did not have the proper nail. All in all was a good buy and I would recommend it to a friend.
