Comments about American Plastic Toys My Very Own Childrens Desk and Easel:

We received this table as a gift when our son was two years old. He is now a tall five-year-old and can still sit at it and work (desk is still in great shape), but it's getting small for him and he would like a "real" desk (i.e., not plastic).

Our main complaint is that the flip-top lid comes off too easily when opened, and is hard for my son to put back on correctly. If he doesn't open it, it stays on just fine.

The inside storage is large enough for lots of crayons and a couple of activity books or blank sheets of paper, though he has to lift the paper up to get to the crayons.

Easy to clean and the red clip at the top of the desk makes it easy to clip on papers so they don't slide all over the table. The angled of the desk is just right for toddlers (easier to use than a flat surface).

Overall, I would have still preferred a wooden desk, but it's a good value for the price. It's hard, durable plastic, not the flimsy easily breakable plastic. My son enjoyed having his own desk. Chair is a good height for the table.

Comments about American Plastic Toys My Very Own Childrens Desk and Easel:

This was bought for my 18 month old granddaughter to sit at and draw on and it does work as an easel. She also sits at it and plays with her computer like she sees Grandma do. She likes to carry the chair around with her and I have also seen her put it on her head like a hat! Too cute! The fact that the top falls off way too easily is a problem. I know it needs to come up to be an easel, but maybe it should just be a desk or it could be redesigned so it was more stable. I will look at Hayneedle again for products. Abigail likes it and plays with it everyday so it was a good purchase reasonably priced. It just needs a little rethinking and it would be perfect! Let me know if you come up with a newer model! Thanks again

Comments about American Plastic Toys My Very Own Childrens Desk and Easel:

My 1 1/2 year old loves to have his own desk in the office, where everyone else has one too. It is a good size, and fits under the table when not in use. It is also easy to move to other rooms around the house. My biggest frustration is that the lift up top is not attached, and comes off too easily. the stool also slides and he falls off when on our slick kitchen floor.
