Comments about Nuevo Crystal Strip - 48W in. - Chrome:
This is a pretty good replica of the Cellula Chandelier that is sold by[...]. Here is how it differs from the original:- the metal is a mirror-finish chrome rather than brushed nickel (I think this is a good thing, since there is nothing particularly understated about crystal anyway)- the two metal cables that are used to hang the lamp are set farther apart from the center, even though the overall size of the lamp is the same (so the ends of the rod are shorter)- the crystals are a little rougher, but of similar design- the metal links that connect the crystals to one another are very weak, and tend to open under the weight of the crystals - we've had a crystal fall and break on its own, and this is the only serious design flaw that we've come across- the suspension cables and electric wire are a foot or two shorter than in the original, but sufficient for hanging the lamp over a dining table if you've got up to 10' ceilings. The lamp mounts very neatly with two narrow concealed screws, and the clear electric wire is not too distracting (and is identical to that used in the original design). The crystals look best if you hang them no higher than the top of the bulb sockets, so there's a bit of air under the bar.To do it justice, consider using a dimmer switch for it -- it looks amazing on a really low setting, with the crystals barely sparkling. We love it!
