This Old Elm Reclaimed Reclaimed Wood Trunk gives old timbers, originally purposed as building materials, a chance to be recycled into something new. Crafted from reclaimed solid elm wood, you may choose to give this beautiful piece of furniture new life as a storage chest, coffee table, or bench. The trunk is finished in the warm brown tones one would expect from authentically aged wood. A simple cutout allows opening of the top and solid brass bails on each side afford easy carriage.

......EXCEPT: the right hinge (on the box) is held by 2 screws that are screwed in at an extreme angle .... and that same hinge (connecting to the lid) has 1 screw which is on an angle and sticking out almost an 8th of an inch. The phillips-head screw heads are stripped, therefore it will take a bit of work to get them out and re-install new ones.
Otherwise, the quality of the product (overall construction and the solid feel) is great. And the colors of the various woods match our bedroom furniture very well.

The quality of the trunk was less than desired. It's cheaply made, the hinges were falling off and the hinge screws were stripped and had to be replaced. The placement of wood has gaps. I would say its only worth about a third of the cost. Very disappointed with the trunk. The reclaimed wood strips are thin and placed on newer framing. It did ship very quickly but was not packaged to protect against damage.

Trunk was better than expected. We had looked for something like this to use a coffee table in our family room for almost a year with no success. Normally would have wanted to see it in person but took a chance and ordered online. It's perfect and we have received many compliments.
