Not constructed of heavy or thick wood as I imagined. Capacity is a bit small but looks very nice. Not sure how much weight it could handle inside or on lid.

My future daughter in law wanted a trunk to put all her wedding cards in at the wedding instead of the traditional items you would use for that(bird cage,decorated box, wishing well etc)I found this one on line and its prefect for what we need not to big. We are going to display it open so my son is going to put a piece of wood over the inside of the box to make sure that no one helps themselves to the cards. He is going to stain the wood the same color as the trunk. We are going to decorate it with branches and ivy leaves to make it look festive.I will have to send a photo of how it looks. after the wedding my son wants to use it to store some of his CDs.

I love the design, it is exactly the way it was pictured online. I thought it would be a little bigger, but it fits perfectly in my living room. I expected a heavier wood and am not sure if it will stand up over time, but am hoping it will.
