Comments about Phil & Teds Traveller:

I have owned this for about 7 months and have used it many times for many reasons. I purchased this to travel to a friends house. I checked a bag at the airport with this inside it. Yes, it did take up about 60% of a large checkable suitcase however, that was still enough room for my things ( and my daughters).

Set up time: here's the thing y'all...majority of uses happen on vacation. Start by planning ahead. Practice once at home and let the little one check it out. First attempt took me 16 minutes ( yes I timed it because of the other reviews). 16 minutes included my daughter hanging on me and running away with parts. Once arriving at your destination be smart and set this up before a nap or bedtime is needed. Another tip, grab a beer or wine before you start, this is vacation after all. Second time I assembled this it took 9 minutes, no instructions needed, 1/4 of my beer, and I had fit my daughters blanky inside the carry case. 7 months later it takes me 5-10 minutes for set up. If this is too much for you go ahead and break your back and pay up to check a full size pack and play.

Break down time: again plan ahead. This takes the same amount of time to break down and set up. The two joints of the side rails take the most time. Bring a key with you to push the button or lean it against the corner of a dresser while pulling apart. Be sure to remove the feet when rolling it all together so it fits easily in the bag ( which it does). After squish/rolling the air out of the pad remember to close the valve so air doesn't come back in.

Flaws: joints in side rails are too stiff to push with finger but I called phil&teds and they clued me in that you can reverse the bar with the hole in it to have the hole facing towards the corner and problem solved. Tabs on corner of mattress are stupid tricky (I don't even hook them anymore).

Pros: light weight. Fits in checkable suitcase. Can be carried on. Shoulder strap and bag are great. Light weight. Slim size can even fit in some closets which my daughter likes.

My daughter is 19.5 months old and 95th percentile for height. She has plenty of room and sleeps great in here. She has never tipped it over. If this is going on a tile floor I do put a towel under it. On carpet it's fine ( seems hard but she sleeps great). If you travel with a baby and are decent at assembling things this is for you! If u want a mini miracle 1 pound pop up crib please invent one and I will be the first to purchase haha.

Comments about Phil & Teds Traveller:

I purchased this item being weary because of a couple of the reviews on here but I REALLY love this item and love Phil & Ted's. To get the negatives out of the way...yes, it can take a little more time to assemble/disassemble than some of the other items on the market (my sister has the Bjorn Travel Crib which is pretty quick but bulky) but I really like the size of this travel cot and how compact it is when I am traveling. I own a Phil & Ted's stroller and love being able to throw it in the gear basket when I am at the airport. I called their office and they sent me a video link to a really great video on how to assemble the Traveller...I'd recommend watching it.

As for the positives; like I said it is very lightweight and compact which makes taking it on trips out of town or to grandma's house very easy. I love that it can be used indoor or outdoors and I purchased the sun cover for the top which is nice for when we go to the park. I also used some camping stakes that I had at home to help secure it firmly to the ground. I get so many compliments on the product when I'm out because not many of these are able to be outside. The mattress is very supportive and I am liking that it comes with a sheet but I really wish you could purchase more. When I spoke with their customer service department they said that extra sheets will be available for purchase in the near future so I am crossing my fingers on that one.

Overall, I really love this item and have recommended it to my family and friends. It will take a couple extra minutes than a traditional pack and play or travel cot but it is so worth it for the space savings. I can now assemble it just over two minutes and am faster taking it down!
