I received the barrel about a week ago and it had rained a few times so I have a little bit of experience with it. One thing you will want to do is elevate it for two reasons: 1. water pressure, 2. to make hose easier to attach. After the first rain, I had a lot of trouble getting the water out, so I drained it out and put it on a plastic stand I improvised. The pressure still isn't great, but at least I can get the hose on.
Also, the item was about twice as big as I expected. Not really a problem, but I did have to clear out some space and positioning it was a bit of a challenge, so just something to keep in mind.
It does look exactly as pictured. If you use it as a planter, be sure to put some rocks or something in the bottom before you plant anything because water will accumulate as it doesn't drain well.
The picture I attached is before I elevated and planted flowers. You'll have to tilt your head, sorry.

I bought one of these in the spring of 2012 to collect rain water for our vegetable garden. It worked ok at first but the drain lets out the water at barely a trickle. As I filled it with water this spring (2013), the barrel never seemed to fill up. One day I finally turned it over and there was a very large crack on the bottom of the plastic where all the water was leaking out.

I contacted the company (Good Ideas) and sent pictures of the defect near a seam and a copy of my receipt. I was the told that it was out of warranty and that all they could do was offer me a discount on a new one. I believe it was only a month out of warranty. So I want to warn anyone considering the purchase of this unit that the company does not stand behind their product as they are very strict about the 12 month warranty. If they wanted to act in good faith, they would have replaced it. The discount on another unit was worthless as I wouldn't want to throw away good money for a potentially defective product a second time.

Please beware that this may not last more than a year.

Comments about Good Ideas Rain Wizard 65 Gallon Rain Barrel Urn:

The Rain Barrel arrived safely, but the box was quite bashed in! Fortunately there was no damage to the rain barrel itself. The brass spigot was placed inside a simple ziploc baggie and attached to the plastic leaf screen. The baggie split open during transit due to the weight of the brass spigot. Again nothing was damaged and I was able to get the spigot by turning the rain barrel upside down. No way to officially test the rain barrel yet due to the drought in California. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that all goes well. Lower rating due to poor shipping packaging.

Comments about Good Ideas Rain Wizard 65 Gallon Rain Barrel Urn:

Over all this is a nice product. My only issue is the fitting for the hose bib. As I was tightening the hose bib in, the threaded fitting broke out of the barrel. I plan to get some PVC cement and attempt to re-install it. Not a huge issue but inspection showed the glue joint wasn't sufficient.
