I've tried several vibrating unit, both foreign-built and domestic, before this one. Some units can not be running unattended. Some can only be run with a dry media (no liquids). The last unit I tried, that was able to use liquid mediums, leaked. This unit doesn't leak and is not as noisy as the other ones. This unit has been running for three days, stopping it, periodically, only to check on the condition of the rocks. I placed a 3/4" plywood spacer, with three very slight indents (3/4" wide x 1/16" deep) that match the position of the ruuber feet, under the unit to keep it from vibrating off my workbench (see photos attached). I use my old rotating tumbler for the rough stuff and will be using this unit to refine and polish the previously rough-tumbled rocks, as well as the river and beach-washed stones. It seems to be working well and am very pleased with the unit thus far.

A good product which produces an excellent polish. Would be an excellent product except: 1: The main shaft that mounts the bowl and lid needs to be stainless steel. by the time I finished 2 polish cycles, it was badly rusted. 2: The bowl and lid both need some type of hardened bushing. No matter how hard you tighten the nuts down, they wallow out to an oversize and oblong hole. I previously sent photos of these conditions to Raytech, but I guess they were ignored. These 2 things make a great product rate not so good in my estimation.

This vibrating rock tumbler/polisher is easy to use and not very noisy. Previous reviews stated that it is noisy, but it really isn't. I was pleasantly surprised by this.

Haven't had a chance to see the end results of the rocks yet, but other than being a little loud it looks like the vibration is doing the job.
