The Red Cedar Classic Swing & Stand Set features a kiln-dried, Western Red Cedar swing in your choice of 4- or 5-foot lengths. This swing has been double-dipped in a protective oil stain finish to ensure its lasting good looks. Smooth sanded edges make it nice to the touch, and a contoured seat adds extra comfort. The included stand features a classic A-frame style and supports up to 750 lbs. of weight. The swing will support up to 500 lbs. Hanging chains and hooks are included.

Cedar wood is lightweight and resistant to both cracking and moisture rot. The oils of this resilient wood guard against insect attack and decay, and their distinctive aroma acts as a mild insect repellant. Cedar is a dependable choice for outdoor furniture, either as a finished or unfinished wood. Over time, unfinished cedar left outdoors will weather to a silvery gray patina. This natural process does not compromise the strength or integrity of the wood.

I purchased this swing for my front porch. It is perfect for the location and was easy to assemble. The workmanship is excellent. I was so happy with this purchase that, when my front patio was completed, I purchased the glider of the same style expecting the same quality as the swing. I was not disappointed.

I got the impression that the swing is so much in demand (probably because of its relatively low price) that they can’t make them fast enough, so quality suffers. For example, some of the seat slats were awful in appearance. Because of the difference in the wood grain of these slats, the harder grain absorbed less stain which resulted in them looking like they have zebra stripes in two very different shades of brown painted on them. And the person who assembled the back put the gaudy-looking things on the seatback where everyone would be sure to see them. I unscrewed them and put them on the seat bottom toward the back where they would not be so prominently in view. While doing this, I discovered that not enough brass screws had been installed to secure the slats, so I substituted sheetrock screws in place of the missing ones.

Arrived in good shape. Confusing instructions. I'm a person that does best wiith step by step instructions and this does not provide that. You need a wrench which isn't specified. I'm a woman and don't have tools ready at hand. The seat is short and I have long legs, as does my teenage son, so the seat is not very comfortable for us. Fits my 12yo daughter well. If I hadn't bought it on line, I would return it for a bench with a wider width. Color is beautiful. Overall, not as happy as I thought I would be.
