We got this item for travel with our new Greater Swiss Mountain dog puppy. I was very pleased with how easy it set up (especially since the directions were inside and only found after setup) My puppy, crate trained in a much smaller hard plastic crate adapted to this immediately. My one problem is that the cat also likes it and tried to claim it within minutes of set up. I am also a bit concerned about the strength of the zippers for those times when we need the dog to stay in the crate. We will use it when we are out of the house for vacation, weddings, etc.

This is a very good crate, light and easy to set up, but not for puppies I'm afraid. In just 3 days our new 16 month old Beagle has managed to chew 2 holes in so it is just a matter of time before this crate will no longer hold her. Should have bought a hard plastic one.

Like the crate; the metal rods that lock in place to hold the crate up are a bit awkward to place, but very sturdy. My dog loved the crate from the moment I set it up.

I just purchased this crate to replace another one I had. I went with this crate because of the window covers. Its the perfect size for my collie who weights 50 pounds. We use it at agility trials. It fits nicely in the back of my Dodge Caliber and its easy to carry.

One of the most tiring things about travelling with dogs is schlepping the crates into the hotel room, sometimes evry day. On our month long hunting trips we leave the hard crates in the truck and move the lightweight, easily transportable soft crates to the room. They set up in 15 seconds. I would not recommend using them for transport to the field, because hunting dogs can and will wipe out the front zipper in their eagerness to get to the birds.
