My grandson wanted an adjustable desk lamp with a contemporary look. Most of the lamps in this style were halogen, which we definitely did not want. He likes the looks of this lamp and says it is great for his school work. I wish the lamp would accomodate a bulb greater than 60 watts so that he could have a greater choice of light intensity. But he says it works well, and he likes the way he can adjust the lamp. I am delighted that I finally found a suitable lamp with such a great design.

Anyway instead of the beautiful shine as it appears in the picture, it has a dull brushed silver finish. I should have spent more time reading the description, because I also thought it had a halogen light, which most of the similar lamps online had. I was going to return it, but there waS no way I could have fit it back in the package.
The good things are that it moves well, I like the off and on switch location on top of the light and the quality is very decent. I'm used to it now and find it very acceptable.
