Comments about Riverside Cantata L-Shaped Workstation Computer Desk:

I bought this desk after months of searching for a solid wood desk for my home office. This one met all my requirements. It's well-built, solid, and has a beautiful cherry finish that will last for many years. There are only two things that could have been done better on this desk that keep me from giving a it a 5 out of 5: (1) I wish the desk height were the same as the return; for me it's rather awkward to have the desk a little higher than the return, but I will get used to it. (2) the back panel down near the floor does not have a wire access hole similar to the one on the left pedestal where the computer or printer go. The left pedestal has a very nice elongated, oval-shaped hole on its right side. The desk needs a one just like that on the back panel near the floor so you can easily access wire behind the desk without having to constantly move it, and that is not an easy task for such a large, heavy desk. Don't know why the designers did not think of that. But if you're good with wood-working, you could make a hole yourself, which is what I did. I bought a 4 and one-half inch hole saw, attached it to my drill, cut four holes in the back panel about three inches from the bottom, then used a hand saw to remove the remaining pieces, and finally, used a file and sander to smooth out the rough edges. Now I have a an elongated-hole (about 24 inches long) on the back panel that is big enough to get my fist through and handle any wires I need to reach all without moving the desk. Wonderful!

Designers: if you're reading this, please get your potential customers' feedback on your products before you market them because they will tell you what you need to do to make the product better.

The desk is a winner and I'd recommend buying it, but just be aware that wire access from the back is not the best unless you make a hole yourself like I did.
