Description

The Royal Flyer Sled is the perfect sled for your little prince or princess. It is built from highly figured maple, which is sanded smooth and hand-rubbed with a lead-free marine-grade finish. The pivot design provides amazing turning power, even on snow-packed slopes, thanks to the patent-pending steering and durable black plastic skids on the bottom. Stainless steel hardware is used throughout the sled for durability, and the powder-coated metal runners are designed to be especially strong to handle turning even on slick ice. Each Royal Flyer is signed and numbered by the sledmaker in the Silverton, CO, workshop, giving it a unique personalized quality. You also have to option to hand-engrave your child's name right onto the sled. Lettering is 2 inches tall and runs lengthwise up the center of the sled. For children 3 years and up. Weight capacity: 300 pounds. Dimensions: 52L x 24W x 5H inches.

Lug Factor
An important aspect to consider when shopping for the right sled, lug factor refers to the amount of effort required to lug the sled back to the top of the hill for the next ride.

• Easy
  These sleds have a negligible weight and are easily pulled behind the rider on the journey to the top.


• Moderate
  Sleds with moderate lug factor are middleweight sleds that require some light effort to pull or carry up the hill.


• Heavy
  Heavy lug factor means the sled will require some effort to be pulled up the hill. Parents or supervisors of younger sledders should be prepared to assist with lugging these sleds after a few rides.

Control Level
