After reading the reviews I didn't know what to expect. This box is being used to hide a hockey bag in our house so the usage was different than intended. It was easy to assemble and the quality was better than expected, it's very nice wood, a solid light weight wood. I would have given it a 5 star rating however I agree with the comments of many, the bottom "slat rack" is not as sturdy as it should be for the price. I also question if an adult should sit on top of the box as the wood is sturdy but thin and you can see it flex when an adult sits on it. Since our storage needs do not require an exceptional heavy duty bottom it's just fine. This was a trial box for us, now I will buy 2 more since we have 3 hockey players in the house and there will be no more unsightly bags by the front door! Love our storage hockey box!

These bins do NOT have a 400 lb capacity. Not even close. They aren't water tight either. Any time it rained, water constantly rolled in under the lid and soaked everything I stored in them. The 'floor' panels are flimsy and after putting 2 - 40 lb bird seed bags in, gently, they collapsed and we had to rebuild them. The wood tops started buckling and warping within a couple of weeks. If you're using them for aesthetic purposes, they look good and they have a nice weathered greyish wood look but otherwise, beware if you really intend to store things in them.

Great selection on my part, but a perfect piece for color , size for my house to hide my fish boots and stuff before entering house. Fairly easy to put together and seems strong enough to last. Only bad thing............not enough screws to assemble

Like the weathered grey finish. However the screws were loose in the box, and hard to find. The lid doesn't sit flat across the top and two of the vertical boards in the left-hand side came apart about 1/2". So now there is a gap in the side of the chest. Assembly is doable, but takes longer than the instructions imply (and I have a lot of experience in this area)

We purchased for our lanai but it is pretty enough for interior space as well. Sturdy and functional. However, the hinges were a little hard to use --decided not to use.

Bought specifically to hold 5 gallon water bottles,interior space not large enough. when 3 gallon bottles were put in, the bottom collapsed, there is no way this bench could hold 400lbs., the two 3 gallon bottles weighed less than 50 lbs. The unit is great looking but should have a solid ,sturdier bottom,I will have to purchase and construct a nes plywood bottom. Not really a satisfied customer!
