This was our second purchase of the same composter. Our first one is still in-use after 10 years, but we needed more capacity. This composter is perfect for recycling vegetable wastes, leaves, egg shells, coffee grounds, etc. The only "Con" is the 1/4"x 3/4" nylon carriage bolts & nylon nuts provided to assemble the unit. They will eventually "strip". We highly recommend that you assemble your composter using 1/4" diameter X 3/4" length steel carriage bolts & steel nuts. The entire set of 12 can be purchased at any hardware store for less about $2.

I waited a month or 2 to report on this. I have an old rubber maid composter I bought a while ago. I never realized how good it was until I bought this one. This one is not that easy to mix and turn over the compost. There just is not the space. It is OK with composting. I had to help it along a lot with worms and dirt from my old one. It does not break down quickly and as someone else wrote about one, the dirt is not the same as the pictures.

OK but not a great value at $99

Got this item today and assembled it in short order. This is a simple but decent product that would get more stars except that it's not a good value for the money. This looks and feels like a $39.99 item rather than the $99 I paid. If I had seen this in person prior to ordering I would not have purchased it.

So I've had this for what, four days now, and what can I say? The assembly directions were easy to follow, and it was easy to assemble (I like the hard plastic nuts and bolts). Composters are not particularly attractive, it's more something you want to hide in your back yard than showcase. Looks big, but we'll know later how much it holds. It's winter so I don't know how quickly things will compost, or if we get odors. Looks pretty durable. We'll see.

Delivery time was reasonable. The bin was very easy to assemble (I really liked the hard plastic bolts and nuts), and the instructions on how to start composting were very easy to understand. Of course it's winter and we'll see how things go, so I can't comment on speed of composting, whether or not there are odors, etc. I would not say that this is particularly attactive (none are attractive). However, this unit is just what I expected.

I moved south and liked this in my northern home. I originally purchased this t SAMs club about 6 years ago. I had to search hard to find this. So glad b/c for the money you can't beat it. I only gave this four stars b/c the bolts that secure the pieces together were plastic which I replaced with metal. For less than $1.00 I replaced the 12 carriage bolts for metal that the company could supply with the unit. It is made in Canada, so at least it is made in North America. Six years ago, it cost about $85, so the cost hasn't changed much. Good deal.

I've had many compost bins but this one is the best for my needs. The one I had for years ten years was squashed by a huge tree during the recent tropical storm "Sandy," so now I'm getting another.
