Practice free throws, get a game going, and send the team through drills. It's easy with the Spalding In Ground 72 Inch Basketball System. Built tough to withstand everything from slam dunks to pole slams, this in-ground mounted system is made from heavy duty materials with competition-grade standards. A 72 x 42-inch tempered glass backboard, measuring 0.5 inches thick for superior rebounds, is reinforced by a 1 x 2-inch steel frame and trimmed in pro-style aluminum. The authentic Arena View Main Court backstop design lets you shoot for the most accuracy. An integrated 72-inch lower board frame reinforcement bar adds extra stability. A four-cornered Z-arm mount connects the backboard to the pole and wraps around for continuous support. The pole itself is square in shape and 8 inches around, and is made from durable 0.1875-inch steel with a weather-proof powder-coated finish, and is one solid piece, complete with a stadium-style pole pad. Easily adjust the height using the built-in U-Turn Pro system, which works in just minutes and lets you change the rim from 7.5 feet to 10 feet tall. An interior safety stop prevents the backboard from being lowered below 6 feet 6 inches, and the crank handle can be removed to prevent tampering.
This system also comes complete with a 4 x 5-inch rim with residential 180-degree flex action, designed to withstand the most intense shots and slams. An adjustable mechanism is designed to break away along 180 degrees of the ring's diameter. The rim is set to an official 4-foot offset from the pole; an all-weather nylon net is included.
All elements of this goal system are constructed using welded gussets and anchor bolts for the utmost security and safety; plastic bushings are included with all hardware to prevent metal-on-metal contact that can lead to rusting. Set-up is simple with the hinged base plate, which lets you assemble the system on the ground. In-ground installation requires cement (not included).
