The storage room is quite large for all of the wife's blankets, pillows, board games, magazines, and the misc. clutter that tends to collect around the living room. We had a tough choice for months in figuring out a coffee table for the living room. This ottoman is dual purpose. When we have guests over for coffee or game night, we can simply lift the top and flip it over for the drinks and snacks. The lid is slightly heavier than expected, but shows how stout the structure is. It can probably hold a 200+ lb person standing or sitting. You may need 2 to lift, but well worth the sturdy design. The color is a dark expresso that contrasts nicely with any light and natural colors. No moving parts like hydraulic arms or hinges. I opted for the manual labor in flipping the lid for the dual purpose over possible failures of moving parts in the future. Clean and simple design with decent stitching. There's 1 button in the center with 4 squares of leather stitching. The legs stout and the casters are definitely useful if you plan to roll it. Beware, if you have a shag rug you may need 2 to move it w/o pulling the rug's fibers. It's made in China, but what isn't?

Hopefully the company is able to figure out a better way to ship this piece. It looks really nice and while we are happy with the look, it wasn't easy to get it here. It had to be shipped twice and was damaged both times. Hayneedle was super great about fixing the issues though - kudos for their customer service. Attaching the legs kind of a pain and we would recommend just leaving the casters out all together. Its a little heavy to move but the casters are a pain to install.

We elected to not put the casters on. No need for it to move around. The top is very heavy but easily manageable for two people. It is a nice addition to our room and looks exactly as presented on the web site.

I have just received my ottoman and am pleased with the look as well as the fast free shipping. I placed this piece in my family/kids playroom, so we'll have to se how it holds up. The flipping top is heavier than I expected, but perhaps that will help with withstanding heavy use.
