Exceeded my expectations. I was a little nervous that I wasn't going to get enough bang for my buck, but I feel I made great purchase. I wouldn't trade this set with any other one on the market.[...]I would recommend this to anyone looking for not only a desk, but a piece of furniture to enhance your home. Assembly was fairly simple and the few hours it took was well worth it.

I was not so happy with this purchase. If you stand back and look at the desk it looks great, but the material used is very cheap. Also we didn't know it until we practically had the whole thing put together that it was chipped in a few different spots. We decided to try and cover it up with a black marker. It would have been a lot of trouble to take it apart and repackage it and send it back. I feel like when a company makes or designs a product like this and its made out of cheap material, it really makes the company thats selling the product look really bad. Be careful if you purchase this desk. It does look nice in the picture, but when you stand up close to it it looks very cheap.

Comments about Bush Stanford Computer Desk with Optional Hutch and Filing Cabinet:
The sides of the hutch seem to be of very poor quality. Perhaps doing away with the pressed wood for more quality wood would be a big improvement.

Comments about Bush Stanford Computer Desk with Optional Hutch and Filing Cabinet:
I ordered this desk and expected hard wood, as in the description it said wood, not particle board. It took me 7 hours to assemble both the hutch and the desk. I had a few problems with the assembly: 1) they only provide you exactly the number of screws, nails, etc needed to complete assembly, but 2 times the screws actually broke, so I had to go to the hardware store. 2) the cardboard backing (which for the price I thought would be wood, did not line up correctly, so I left it off. 3) until we bolted the hutch to the wall for earthquake safety (live in CA) the whole desk was somewhat wobbly.
Once Everything was said and done, and my personal modifications were made, it looks beautiful. One feature I really love is that the long drawer can either be a drawer or a keyboard drawer. positive note: the instructions and pieces were clear and the stickers with the part number and letter came off without any adhesive residue.

Comments about Bush Stanford Computer Desk with Optional Hutch and Filing Cabinet:
I bought the filing cabinet about 6 months ago and love it; it is attractive and functional, and very sturdy/well built. The desk is good, but not as good as the filing cabinet. (I would give 3.5 stars to the desk, and 5 stars to the filing cabinet.) I just put it together, and the build quality is decent. It's particleboard of varying qualities, and it looks nice. But when you're paying under $400 for the desk + hutch (on sale), I'm not expecting the same thing from a desk that costs three or four times as much. That said, I would gladly have paid a little more for a piece of particle board for the backing (it is cardboard - not very good at all and one of the few disappointments). Also, the crown molding at the top has about a gap a bit larger than 1/16" all the way around. I can probably fix that by re-drilling all the holes, but that is a nuisance I shouldn't have to deal with. And the small drawer has a problem with it (kind of falls out of the track a little when you push it in - I can shove it back, but again, it is a quality issue). Haven't used it much yet, but it seems sturdy enough, and it looks really smart. Would recommend, but with caveats for the desk.
