I bought this table for myself. I wanted a sewing table large enough for both my sewing machine and my serger. This design is perfect. The quality is good - its made with the same stuff that a Formica countertop is, so it's not that cheap pressed wood product. But it is very heavy. The box is 86 pounds of dead weight. In the box is 24 mostly rectangular pieces with pre drilled holes and about 10 pounds of hardware. The instructions say to mount all the hardware first before putting the boards together. This would be ok, except the diagrams are shown with the table upside down and inside out, so it is difficult to know if you are mounting hinges, magnetic catches and drawer sliders in the right direction until you are ready to put it all together. There is very little worded instruction - only the exploded diagrams which are too small to see any detail like which way the hinges, catches, etc. should go. But all in all, after 2 days of working on it, I got it together and it will be a great table for my sewing.

I was not expecting a fabulous piece of furniture for the price, but this quilting table still is way overpriced for what you get. First, the instructions for putting it together are terrible. Were I not experienced at putting furniture together I would have given up. The instructions are mostly drawings, and very small, unclear drawings at that. (Good drawings can be better than worded instructions some times.) The grammar used with the few written instructions is so bad that it often is difficult to understand exactly what goes where. Second, the little wooden pegs used in several spots are too short to hold a shelf securely and are made of what feels like balsa wood. Two snapped in half while I was trying to assemble the shelves and then I had to get the pieces out without enlarging the hole. My husband cut some metal screws to replace the wooden pegs and they are much stronger. But, we should not have had to do that. Third, the white finish is very thin and the table came with the finish rubbed off along the edges and corners of pieces. And last, the design and instructions do not secure the various pieces together tightly enough so that there are gaps where there should not be, even after tightening all screws as tightly as possible. Once this table is in place, I would not move it unless absolutely necessary. I would not recommend this table. If I had it to do over, I would buy a more expensive, but hopefully more soundly made table.

Comments about Sullivans Quilter's Table:

I grew up on a farm, learn common sense. I put it together in less than 3 hours. Lay everything out, in order by the instructions, use a screw gun with #1 Phillips, long bit. Have someone hold things when you need it. I put it together in my nightgown. Don't push the lock grommets too hard, one pushed through, but gorilla glue fixed that. Looks great and makes sewing so much easier.

    Comments about Sullivans Quilter's Table:

Once it arrived and we got it put together, I realized it wasn't quite what I was actually shopping for, but I am still very happy with it. I had thought it would be taller than a regular sewing desk but it's not. I think in the long run it will actually serve me better. I will be able to move it around and utilize it for more than just measuring and cutting fabric; it will actually come more in handy than my original plans. I am very happy with the purchase and the construction is sturdy. I expect this table will last me a good long while. So far (I've only had it for a few days) it has already proven to be extremely useful!

      Comments about Sullivans Quilter's Table:

Great table. Just what I needed in my sewing room. I will buy the ironing pad and I will be able to get rid of my old board. I found the instructions easy to follow. I put the hinges on backwards, but other than that, it went together quicker than I thought. Thanks for a great product. It also shipped quickly.

      Comments about Sullivans Quilter's Table:

Even though it took me almost 4 hours to put together-I was impressed with the end result. My only comment concerning the instructions was the direction of the magnetic holders needed to be clearer. I got on line and enlarged that part of the instructions so I would screw them on correctly. Thanks also for the quick delivery. Didn't expect it so soon-nice surprise.
