Comments about Sunshine Systems GrowSpot 15 Watt LED Grow Light:
I used these to create an herb and veggie garden in my kitchen. I love that plants grow like crazy under under them, but they fit into a regular pendant light fixture. So I was able to create a grow space that looks beautiful and fits into my regular decor.
I have several of the general spectrum and green growth booster bulbs -- although they may seem expensive, they last forever and use almost no energy. By themselves, I have found them sufficient to grow herbs, kale, collard greens, spinach, and similar leafy edibles. Also beets and turnips.
I also have the bloom bulb -- it is great in my regular grow tent where I use stronger lights to crow citrus, tomatoes, and peppers in the winter. By themselves, the LEDs don't seem to do it for these plants. But the bloom bulb supplements a more traditional light set-up wonderfully and lets me direct just those plants that are ready to bloom and fruit. To save energy in months when I don't need the tent to be warmer inside than outside, I will run the mixed spectrum and green growth LEDs for a few hours a day, then turning on the metal halide bulb for less hours.
The only downside is delivery. Why the vendor sends these requiring a signature I have no idea. It is incredibly inconvenient because I ride my bike to work (meaning I don't ship stuff there) and am never home to sign for boxes. Please stop requiring a signature! If these are ever cheaper elsewhere, or even comparably priced, I'll order them there just to spare myself the song and dance necessary to deliver these to a friend who can sign during the day or redirect these to a FedEx store every single time I order.
