Purchased a chest for my wife as a gift The chest arrived in a very timely fashion. While putting it together, the directions were very fuzzy and unclear at times. Some of the pilot holes where tough to get the screws started. During the final step of putting on the latch , the latch did not allow the lid to close fully. It was very confusing.

Overall a nice piece of furniture. Was a bit disappointed that it does not appear to be solid cedar, but cedar lined. The instructions are not very clear at all. The difference in what screws to use, and where, and how to put the lid stops on, was quite a challenge

Pros: Assembly is very simple and quick. Looks as good as the photos.
Cons: The "veneer" mentioned in the description is extremely thin. The bulk of the construction is some type of composite that feels more like heavy cardboard than wood. Damaged in shipping despite sturdy packaging.

Putting the cedar chest together went pretty well until I got to the lid. The lid hinges and safety hinges took me longer than all the rest of the sections together.
It's a nice chest for a decent price. I put two chests side by side under a 72" window to be used as a window seat. The cedar lining is a great plus.

Although easy to put together, the lid doesn't close properly and "C" panel was chipped. The Customer Service agent was excellent and satisfied the issues with an adjustment to my purchase.
