The Tall Bookcase Platform Bed combines the sleek profile of a platform bed with the space-saving advantage of under-bed storage, plus a functional bookcase headboard. Plywood mattress slats positioned lengthwise distribute body weight evenly and minimize the amount of motion transfer. Beneath the slat support system, 12 spacious drawers provide a convenient place for clothing, linens, blankets, and more. The drawers have plywood sides and metal runners.

Care
We recommend that you simply wipe your units with a clean, damp cloth, and then dry immediately with another clean cloth to maximize the life span and appearance of your product. This product has a laminate finish, and should not be painted or varnished. If liquid is spilled and quickly wiped up, no damage will be done to your unit. However, continuous exposure to liquids or high humidity may cause damage to the board.

Each assembly page allowed 5 minutes per item. This is not accurate unless you have built many of this bed. We were missing a couple of pieces which are on the way...and I selected espresso and got black. But, with three boxes weighing 70, 50 and 30lbs, there was no way I was packing it up to send back. Good thing it is for my son, he likes the black as well and does not care if it matches the rest of his furniture. On the positive, it is a piece of furniture I think will last and it is comfortable.

This is a great bed. I purchased this because we have more stuff than space and this provided a large amount of storage without increasing the space used by our old bed. The bed is solid and assembly was very easy with clear instructions. The majority of the work was related to building and installing the 12 drawers which was made much easier by using a small ratcheting screw driver and in retrospect would have been even easier if I had purchased a small battery powered screwdriver. The drawers themselves are well made and provide as much storage as a standard size dresser drawer.
All of the pieces fit together perfectly and with the exception the pre-drilled holes on the thin upper and lower side rails being slightly too small. That caused a minor headache because the large bolts that hold the bed together screw into the joiners you place in those holes causing them to be misaligned. In the process of trying to hammer the joiners into proper position, one went completely through the hole cracking the veneer but I was able to repair it with some adhesive and touch-up paint. You will need to use a good amount of force to tighten the large bolts that hold the bed together to ensure that the frame is solid. Using glue on the joints will make this even more sturdy but I did not do that in my assembly because the bed is in a small room and will need to be partially disassembled to remove it.
Overall I am very pleased with this purchase. It is a solidly constructed bed with a huge amount of storage.

It wasn't difficult to put together but it does take awhile. I'd say give yourself twice as much time as the instructions say.
As another user said, I added glue to all the wood joints and it's as solid as a rock.
I'd certainly buy another if I needed one.

Perfect support for my single select comfort sleep number mattress. The bed is strong and durable. Quiet & no sqeaks at all. The storage is awesome! #1 for me is my dog can no longer get under my bed. It did take me about 8 hours to assemble it with a friend but only because we added wood glue to all screws and dowels to make it stronger. It is absolutely the best bed I have ever invested in.
