Got this just recently to replace my Orion EZ Finder. I find it much easier to use the degree rings of the Telrad to jump across the sky than placing the dot and guessing at the distance to move my scope next. It is a little large on my 8" Orion DSE dob but I have added weight holders to the lower end to compensate. I found it very easy to install and alignment was a very straight forward process.

Comments about TELRAD Telescope Reflex Sight with Mounting Base:

This was a great purchase. I had the telrad attached to my Orion XT10 in just a few minutes. It was a much better finder scope than the one that came with my telescope. If you decide to buy, I believe you will be very pleased.

Comments about TELRAD Telescope Reflex Sight with Mounting Base:

I am an amateur astronomer and I have a 10" Dobsonian. I had so much trouble finding things in the night sky. My Dobsonian arrived with a broken finder scope. Rather than send the giant scope back, I took a small refund and purchased the Telrad. What an unbelievably simple device! I would recommend this to anyone, especially if you have a Dobsonian telescope. It's easy to adjust and is incredibly accurate. Buy one! You will not be disappointed.

Comments about TELRAD Telescope Reflex Sight with Mounting Base:

This reflex sight works wonders. For starters it is fast and easy to set up and calibrate. Once calibrated it takes little effort to put anything you want into the center of your eyepiece. The circular retical pattern makes it easy to see what your pointing at, and the light intensity adjusts down to the lower levels so that the retical can barely be made out as not to obstruct your view.

It is rather bulky, it could be about half-its size and still function perfectly. But it fits nicely on my 8" DOB in between my eyepiece and finder-scope as is so I can not get to critical on it's size.

I love a telrad. This little guy makes finding things in the night sky a snap. IT is easy to use and I have mounted one on every kind of telescope I have had.

Comments about TELRAD Telescope Reflex Sight with Mounting Base:

I went from spending a lot of time trying to find an object in the finder scope and not being sure that I had the right object.

The telrad made it easy, took about 2 minutes to align it and the finder scope. Aim through the telrad to the object you want to see, maybe fine tune position in the finder scope, and it is in the center of the eyepiece.

        I found Jupiter using a 4mm eyepiece with a 1200mm FL 8" reflector in about 20 seconds.
