Comments about kathy ireland Home by Martin Tribeca Loft 2-Drawer Vertical Filing Cabinet in White:
I purchased this file cabinet to go with the Tribeca Loft Writing Desk. It was delivered with all the other pieces of desk furniture which was great to get everything together!
I found that when I started installing the casters (which are all plastic) that the casters can not rotate 360 degrees because they are too close to the sides. This creates two wheels that line up the same, and two that fight them. So basically, two wheels will always be dragging and not rolling.
If I wasn't using this file cabinet underneath the writing desk, then I could build up the bottom with some wood and attach the casters to that and then they would turn freely.
If you choose to leave the casters off completely, you may want to consider buying some plastic feet to install on the raw wood edge or the cabinet may tear up the floor/carpet, and may also get caught and tear up the cabinet finish.
The other con to this file cabinet is that when I started putting my hanging files into it, the cabinet started tipping forward! That really surprised me. Now that the top drawer is full and the files are inside, it doesn't seem to tip as much. This could be that it is settling into the carpet and that is helping secure it. But be careful with this!
Overall, it looks great with the other Tribeca Loft pieces and I'm glad to have the additional file and drawer space in my office. The other components I purchased are all sturdy and I'm very satisfied with them. This cabinet was the oddball. See my other reviews and photos of the other Tribeca Loft desk components.
