Description
Brighter and more rugged than previous Leica offerings, the Ultravid Compacts represent an entirely new era in high-performance, compact European binoculars. The 100% aircraft-grade aluminum housing keeps weight to a minimum while adding considerable ruggedness. The use of ashperical lens technology in the Leica Ultravid Compacts allows for full-size binocular performance in a compact, lightweight body. The new High-Lux System is a 42-layer prism coating that produces nearly 100% light transmission per glass-to-air surface, thus giving the user the absolute finest image contrast and most natural color rendition across the entire spectrum. Each eyecup slides up to give most any user a comfortable eye relief. The Ultravid Compacts also feature Leica’s industry-leading waterproof submersion rating of 16.5ft and offer Leica’s Passport Protection Plan. The Passport Protection Plan is the only written-out, unlimited lifetime warranty in the high performance segment of the optics industry.

I checked out all the other top quality pocket binos, these are by far the best; the only ones that give the larger binos a run for the money. They are small and light, can go anywhere, waterproof and rugged, so you can take them boating, hiking, snowshoeing, backpacking, climbing... etc. Fantastic optics, amazing light transmission for such small binos, as good as many mid sized models. Worth the money, a lifetime purchase.

I got the recommendation for this pair of binoculars from a reliable source but it will be presented to my daughter-in-law for a Christmas gift. I know without a doubt she will love the binoculars. She is a birder, an art teacher, a hunter, a nature buff and an excellent artist. She is an amateur photographer and loves photographing birds and other animals of nature. I think she will be overwhelmed at such a nice gift from her mother-in-law. She deserves the very best I could afford. I love her very much.
