The intense preservative odor knocks you out at first, so air it out before putting an animal in it. I don't like cages already, so I only use it when I need to sequester my bunny for other reasons (cleaning the rugs, etc.). [...] The external box was intact but a hole had been punched in the corner of the tray, I think by the leg of one of the side panels (it was about that same size). Hayneedle had the manufacturer ship out a replacement right away, which I appreciated very much. The main problem, bigger than the tray, was that the back was warped, so I had to finagle it together. I had previously put together a medium sized hutch of this brand and it all fit together fine.

The rabbit hutch came damaged. The plastic tray had two holes in it; large enough to put two fingers through them.. In addition, one of pegs on the leg was not attached because of poor construction. I could of returned it but I had already opened the entire box which weighed at least 100 lbs, so it would have been more trouble trying to put it all together then get it to UPS. Take your chances purchasing thi item on line.

Comments about Ware Premium Plus Rabbit Hutch:

I love this rabbit hutch and so does my dwarf rabbit (opal). Needs some TLC legs came with cracks in them not to the point that I couldn't assemble but still shouldn't have cracks it brand new. Few of the screw holes are stripped as well. But over all I love it and for the money its a great product just needs a few improvements.

Comments about Ware Premium Plus Rabbit Hutch:

I have had my other hutch for about 7 years. My other rabbit lived in it until he died last year. We then moved our dwarf bunny into it so she could have more room. I have finally decided to buy an new one (exactly the same) so I could move the old one outside in the backyard so I can bring her out there for fresh air. Now she has a nice new home. She loves it.

Comments about Ware Premium Plus Rabbit Hutch:

I bought this hutch not even a year ago and I have already endured many probelms. About two months after I bought it the winds tipped it over. The top propped open, releasing both of my mini rex bucks into the cold, windy, dark, rainy November night. My dad, my friend, and I all looked for hours for my bunnies. Eventually we found them hiding under some trees. My dad fixed up the hutch (and tied the roof shut with a rope and put a heavy log on it to secure it) but it did no good. Throught the following months, the floor started to give, the middle dividers came apart, and it fell many more times. As the hutch fell, it started to chip and suffer holes. Eventually, I gave one of my bunnies to a friend for comapny. Now it's June (Father's Day morning) and I went out to feed my bunny. As soon as I stepped outside, my heart sank...the hutch was tipped over again. This time, the floor completely gave out, so my bunny was able to run out (probably in fear). I looked for hours for my bunny but to no luck. I came inside only to change out of my wet cloths (from the rain), get a hat to keep the mosquitos from biting my head, and write a qick reveiew to warn people of this weak hutch. I went back outside with my day and looked for another hour. I was almost ready to give up, and then my dad spotted him hiding in the tall grass in our horse paddock. My dad and I slowly walked up to him and, before I knew it, I had Zeus in my arms. As I am writing this reviewm, I hold Zeus in my lap, wrapped in a towel. I will never buy this rabbit hutch or another rabit hutch of the same or similar brand. I advise you, PLEASE, don't buy this hutch! I don't want anyone else to suffer the close calls that I have endured.

Comments about Ware Premium Plus Rabbit Hutch:

This cage is what we were looking for. The color wasn't the same as the picture, but we actually like what we got better. The only thing we would change would be to have the one end wire instead of wood so the animal can get better air circulation. Other than that, the price was good.

Definitely poor quality. Latch is flimsy and definitely won't last. Would possibly be adequate for indoor use but the wood would rot if used outdoors.

          Customer Q & A

          1 Question About This Product
Q: "Is this hutch suitable for a guinea pig?"
A: If you want to use for a guinea pig - you must cover up the bottom of the hutch because the wire mesh bottom will hurt the guinea pig's feet. The ramp may be a bit steep but otherwise - it can work.
