I was so excited when I first removed this lamp from the box. I had ordered two of them - one for each end table in my great room. The colors are truly beautiful, whether in daylight or when the lamp is lit at night. The problem is the very poor quality and workmanship so apparent once you get past being dazzled by the color. The "felt" covering on the bottom of the lamp was neither felt, nor was it covering the bottom of the lamp. It was cut too short and was not secured, so that the rough edges of the lamp would have scraped the table any time it moved. The piecing together of the lamp was done with either huge blobs of lead or not enough. There were many places where niks and pieces of the lead had broken off and others where it was so thick it was difficult to tell where the line to separate one piece from another should have been. There was also some sort of adhesive still stuck to the last row of glass on the shade that peeled off much like regular tape but we were unable to determine where it started and could only peel so far. I realize these lamps are not going to look "perfect", but at a cost of almost [$], I expected higher quality and would think there would be some quality control before the product is shipped to the customer.
