Looks nice, extra work if there isn't a high wall.

Must have high wall to attach. See pic for our solution to a shorter wall - attaching to 2x2 posts. The end stakes of the are blocked, so you cannot hide posts inside.

The pieces were not wrapped in plastic separately, so there was mild scratching of the individual pieces as they came out of the box. Surprised that they scratched so easily. Having assembled two other trellis before,a wooden gym set, wooden shelves, wagons and multiple of toys on Christmas morning; these were probably the worst directions I have ever seen. As a DIY person I still was frustrated when the center pieces slid each time you assembled right and left posts. It should be mention to have another person or at least pushed against a wall to keep the frustration down. No mention of having all screw holes on same side. Of course once I saw each center piece had a hole for the screws I could figure it out, but pieces were not labeled. Who wants to stand in the sun to measure every piece to assemble? Yes it is common sense but do you realize how uncommon that is. Surprised no one else complained before.

Comments about Dura-Trel Winchester 8-ft. Vinyl Wall Trellis - Mocha:

This Trellis is a piece of junk. It has already bowed and I haven't even had it a few days. Not sturdy and the top parts keep falling off. Waste of money.

Comments about Dura-Trel Winchester 8-ft. Vinyl Wall Trellis - Mocha:

This trellis looks great in the location we put it. Just one word of advise. We live in a very hot climate. It seems the vinyl can get very hot in the sun and there is a slight bowing in the heat of afternoon sun. My husband plans to put a brace under it. Also, what to do when the wall available for an anchor of sorts belongs to the neighbors yard too. Hubby fixed to the bottom some steel spikes. He dug a round hole and made a cardboard cylinder. We set the trellis, with spikes now, into the cylinder, poured dry cement powder in and then water. Now the trellis is literally, set in concrete. The back was also braced with steel rods to protect from the fierce winds that are the only thing that makes NM just slightly less than the perfect climate.

Comments about Dura-Trel Winchester 8-ft. Vinyl Wall Trellis - Mocha:

I love this trellis. My patio is right across from my neighbors side living room window. I thought it looked a little lonely there by it's self so I ordered two of #1177 Providence trellis and sit on each side. I could have ordered the sides in a matching trellis but they are 32" shorter and I wanted more height and the ones I ordered are 22" shorter and are the perfect drop comming out straight from the main one. I do not have a green thumb, it is as black as coal so do not intend to grow flowers on it. I collect birds and I super glued random birds in ramdom holes and small bird houses and wound a small amount of ivy in and around.

Comments about Dura-Trel Winchester 8-ft. Vinyl Wall Trellis - Mocha:

Had high hopes for this. Got three to use a floral screen at end of the pool. The stringer at the bottom is not stiff enough so all the horizontal rails bowed 1/2" by the second day. And this is without any heavy vines on it! I put an aluminum bar inside the stringer and now it's fine, but IMO never should have gone to market like this. I wouldn't have bought it if the ad said "All the rails really sag for a shabby look!" If you don't mind the sag go for it. Or buy it and plan on reinforcing it. But don't trust the pic!

Comments about Dura-Trel Winchester 8-ft. Vinyl Wall Trellis - Mocha:

I purchased two trellises for patio privacy. I was happy to see the trellises are very sturdy and attractive. I have planted vines to cover, however, they are very attractive as is and were easy to assemble.
They do not have spikes to hold into the ground but we strategically placed...and pounded four foot (farm) metal posts into the ground and attached the trillis to stand free.

                      Customer Q & A

                      1 Question About This Product
Q: "Can this trellis be freestanding instead of wall-mounted?"
A: The trellis is designed to be wall-mounted with included hardware. Due to the size of the trellis, if you did want to use this as a freestanding trellis you would need to attach some type of post - such as a 4 x 4 wood post - to the trellis for increased stability and to support. Generally, it's recommended for the posts to be 8 - 14 inches in the ground.
