Comments about Townsend Dining Table:
First, I want to say the customer service is phenomenal. They really wanted me to be satisfied when my first table cracked down the middle and kept making a very loud popping sound, scaring my kids! They sent another table, but the shipping/packing is so poorly done, the box was open and there were uncovered parts exposed. My first table came with the hardware carton torn open and loose pieces fell out, some were missing and were very hard to find because of the design. My hardware store said they were European, like Ikea, and I'd have to go to a specialty store. I called to get extras but they were not able to give them to me. Since I live in NYC I was able to find them, but I'm sure it would be more difficult elsewhere. Then the table split down the middle. The second tabletop didn't seem as nice as the first, more flaws. The holes the "hard to find" screws are supposed to fit into were extremely difficult to fit and I needed to switch around many times to see if different screws would fit into different holes. On the top, you can see where the pieces are glued together and where they might split again. I'm thinking about putting a piece underneath just to reinforce it and make it hold together longer. Not sure what I'll do if it splits again. It looks great for the price, but the quality definitely reflects the price.
