I just returned from a week in Jamaica where I tied up our second hammock next to the first hammock that I purchased three years ago.
Previously ,my wife and I jockeyed to out- maneuver each other for time in the hammock.
Now with both hammocks tied up between palm trees we can swing together to our hearts content.

This is our third Mayan hammock and the first one of nylon. The first was the same size and cotton. Very comfortable. It lasted a few years even after getting wet several times. We decided to get the XXL in cotton for the second one. Awesome. Very comfortable. It lasted 4 seasons although there was a rather large hole in it last year but two people could still be comfortable in it. Unfortunately, it fell apart before this season. (4 years of being outside is pretty good especially how often it got caught in the rain -- we try to bring them in but...)I decided to try the nylon this year so we could simply leave it outside and forget it. That was a mistake. It was not very comfortable (especially compared with the previous two cottons). It didn't stretch nearly enough. It felt as if the weave in the middle was too short. Very disappointing. [...]. However, the second was just as uncomfortable. There is definitely a big difference between nylon and cotton. Can I get somewhat comfortable in it? Yes. But I have to angle myself just right. Nothing like the cotton ones. Now I just have to decide whether to buy ([...]) the XXL cotton now or just tolerate this one for the season.

Comments about XL Mazatlan Mayan Hammock:

As a kid, I had access to an uncles hammock and loved to lay in the thing, but it was old and more like a canvas bed than a hammock. I monopolized it anyway and always bought camping hammocks to relax around a campsite. These were well made for what they were intended to be used as....then I found HayNeedle with a SELECTION like I had not previously seen. Whhhoooosh what a selection. I bought two, then two more for friends and relatives. I can close my eyes and be any age in a hammock, a place to read........relax, sleep. I LOVE MY HAMMOCK!

Comments about XL Mazatlan Mayan Hammock:

We saw some like this on a recent visit to Cozumel and decided to try it out. We hung it today and it's a little longer than we wanted but we twisted the end and it works fine. We might even hang it between two posts on our deck instead of the hammock holder that we had. Now we're ready for the lazy days of summer!

I have purchased two of these hammocks, and they are an excellent buy. Made of cotton, they are soft and pliable allowing you to lie either length-wise or cross-wise. I highly recommend them.

              Customer Q & A

              3 Questions About This Product
Q: "Is this hammock nylon or cotton? It isn't giving me the option and I want a cotton one?"
A: It is only available in cotton and it will have nylon string ends.
Q: "What is the weight of the xl mazatlan mayan hammock?"
A: The weight for this item is 4lbs.
Q: "How well does this last left outdoors?"
              A:

For humid and wet environments, we suggest nylon or polyester hammocks because they will not be affected by moisture.  For dryer climates cotton will last well.  This hammock is cotton, and may mildew or rot from frequently high humidity and rain. If you know inclement weather is coming, we suggest bringing it inside until it's dry outside again.
