My fiance and I were looking for a black tv stand to use in our living room. This one held the most appeal out of the hundreds we looked through. It's a little taller than we originally planned on getting, but I'm glad we did, it fits nicely in our space.
We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of construction. We figured since it was MDF that it would be poor quality. This feels very sturdy though. It is super heavy however. If you plan on moving it several times, don't. Assemble it where you will be putting it.
The instructions were the only part that I was disappointed with. They just showed pictures without as many step-by-step instructions. Obviously looking at the product we know that the drawers go in to the unit, but we needed to know how to build the drawers first. My fiance is very handy, so it wasn't a huge problem, but if you aren't great at assembling things, it might take a little longer.
A lot of our furniture is slightly modern, so this stand helped tone that feel down. The glass with the criss-crossed window panes help the look. The cabinets on the left and right leave plenty of room for an Xbox 360 and PS3 to stand upright, even with the shelves in them. Our cable box which is about 20 inches wide, fits in the middle shelves and still has a lot of room on both sides. That was one of our main concerns that those 3 items wouldn't fit. And we still have the drawer on the bottom to put things in.
The design is nice because you can still see the items you need to see (i.e. the cable box so you can change channels with the remote) but you can also hide the items you don't want to see (i.e. the Xbox 360).
Ours was packaged well, there were a couple dents and scratches, but they were in spots that were hidden.
In the end, I'm happy we bought this item.

The instruction manuel starts out with a picture that does not give enough info to determine the proper positioning of the center middle shelf. The drawer was missing the holes for a couple of the dowell rods. The directions don't say that the back center panel overlaps the others, so you have to take screws out that are already installed and re-install, and these screw heads strip out easily. The knobs are antique brass while the hinges are brushed stainless[...] The finish is a nice smooth look. The leg levelers are a nice touch.It took about 2 hours to assemble, which could have been cut in half with good directions.

We needed to change out our tv stand and this was our pick. It looks good, and suprisingly it wasn't too hard to assemble. At first, all the different pieces might overwhelme one, but once you get starting you are good to go, just follow the instructions. If you have to you can put it together alone (two people would be better though). Once it's together it looks nice and it is sturdy.

This item scratches easily. First shipment was damaged in-transit. Returned and another one was sent quickly. Still scratches on the second shipment.
