Comments about Yosemite Home Decor Stainless Steel Square Stacked Column Fountain:
I like the contempory design and simplistic style. However, the unit is poorly manufactured and it took some work to make it an acceptable garden centerpiece. Overpriced for what it is.
When the fountain arrived, the box was intact, but I found the styrofoam inserts broken inside. The unit itself was slightly dented. It is fairly flimsy, made of thin stainless sheet metal, plexiglass, and silicone caulk. There are four clips on the bottom that hold a bottom piece of plexiglass to the steel sides; two of these had come loose and they can't be repaired without ripping out the watertight caulk that seals a plexiglass shelf higher up in the bottom cube. Luckily they aren't super important so I left them unattached.
Obviously the unit has to be perfectly level in order for water to flow evenly over the sides of the upper cube. However, sloppy manufacturing means that the top cube wobbles on the bottom cube shelf, so I improvised some plastic shims to try to address that.
Not shown (as far as I can see) in the web picture are some glass marbles that are supplied to go on the top and bottom shelves. These are not unattractive; more importantly, they serve to hide the plexiglass and silicone which ARE unattractive.
There is a water supply hose that runs from the little pump, which sits submerged in the bottom cube, to the top of the sphere. In my unit, that was cut a bit short; assembly of this is hard enough already because you have to offset the upper cube from the bottom one to get your hand in to attach the hose to the pump.
My biggest beef is that the unit is advertised as having LED illumination, which it does. However, this is only at the top of the sphere where the water comes out. There is another lamp that illuminates the lower part of the fountain, but that's a different type of bulb that gives off a much more yellow-ish light than the white LEDs. So when it is dark the fountain has two contrasting lights and they don't look good together. I found a source for a 12V LED and managed to rig that up as a replacement for the lower lamp; it isn't a pretty installation but it is hidden inside the lower cube.
I am pleased that the unit is fairly quiet; just a bit of noise associated with the moving water (and the pump is adjustable). Here in California with low humidity the fountian seems to lose a fair amount of water to evaporation so I end up refilling it every few days. Hard water scale does accumulate on the outside of the cubes and needs to be cleaned frequently.
Who knows how long this unit will last. In theory the design is nice but the implementation is shoddy. I think it is overpriced (although I would rather have paid the price I did and gotten something of higher quality).
