I have been looking for IR for the past couple of months and the Ranger got great reviews. WOW... There are billions of stars in the night sky that you cannot see without help. I have seen a couple of ufos and hundreds of satellites. The only drawback is the weight. It gets heavy and your neck hurts looking up. I've hooked up an LCD TV and a tripod. I am in the process of buying a portable recording device. If you want a beginners IR star gazing scope this is the one for you.

Good price. The only thing that really bothered me but more of a courier issue is that the parcel was dropped on my doorstep where anyone could have snatched it.

Comments about Yukon Ranger 5x42mm Digital Night Vision Monoculars:

My husband enjoys watching all the wildlife crossing our property in the evenings from his "man barn". The images are clear and concise and was he ever surprised by some of the animals that make full use of the land in the later hours.

Comments about Yukon Ranger 5x42mm Digital Night Vision Monoculars:

not bad (kind of Granular Vision). Also the Plastic cover over the Non focusing lens litterally falls off... and I had to climb down a ravine to retrieve it and now HOLD IT ON WITH MY HAND WHILE USING. Will be sending this one Back .. and probably choose a better quality Mono

          Customer Q & A

          4 Questions About This Product
Q: "Can you use these during the day time as well?"
A: Yes, the Yukon Ranger 5x42 Digital Night Vision Monocular can be used during the day, as well as at night.
Q: "What type of battery does the ranger digital night vision use?"
A: The Yukon Ranger uses 6 AA batteries.
Q: "Can you see through tinted windows?"
A: You can see the same things with night vision devices that you can in daylight with the unaided eye. Since tinted glass prevents passage of visible light, it would also block infrared from the binoculars' illuminator. So, no, you cannot see through tinted glass unless you can in daylight.
          Q: "Can you use rechargeable batteries 6 x 1,2v=7,2v?"
A: Rechargeable AA's are the only rechargeable battery that will work with this unit. You can also power it with a car adapter or an AC adapter that plugs it into the wall.
