Got telescope today. [...] No directions on how to assemble, but it didnt take me long to figure it out. Took about 10 minutes. I was very impressed by the looks of it. It wasn't what i expected. It looks like a much more expensive telescope. The starfinder, is....ehh. It shows everything upsidedown, but the main scope, shows everything rightside up. So, that takes some getting use to. As lite as it is, I don't notice that much shakyness. The rubber feet pads hold well, on a hard surface. Only things I can find a problem with are, the accesory tray, if you tighten it up, just a hair, the tray will crack. And the barlow lens, with a low mm eyepiece you can't focus on anything. But, not a big deal. I'm glad I bought this scope. I was hesitant when I ordered it, but for the money, it has exceeded my expectations!!

If you are looking for a cheap scope thats very portable then this could be your scope. I have a couple of other Zhumell scopes along with this one and Zhumell makes great products for lower prices. The telescope itself is not bad for being a 60mm. But the tripod is not very stable and the slow motion control on it even when completely locked does not keep the scope on the object...you have to still hold the scope into place which makes everything shake. The whole setup is very light and I do like that it comes with a carry bag to put it all in. So this becomes a very portable setup if you want a scope to take on trips or hiking etc. If you are planning on buying a 60mm and want to mainly use it at home then I would suggest upgrading the tripod and mount. But this could be a good scope for a child learning astronomy or just for a cheap scope to take with you somewhere.

Comments about Zhumell Zenith 60x600 Telescope:

I purchased this for my 6-year old grandson, and he is really enjoying it. With the help of his dad, he was able to see craters in the moon, and it's just sophisticated enough for him to enjoy for years to come. The carrying case is also a big plus.

Not only were the instructions incomplete and sometimes incorrect, the 800 number for help from the manufacturer has been disconnected. Such merchandise should not be sold by your company.

This product is great for beginners. The challenges we have experienced is the manual doesn't give instructions for all lenses and we can't get it to lock in place once we find an object. It's hard to hold the scope still where someone else can look in once you finally find the object. However, we have still had fun with is, just need a few tweaks.

Didn't tell me I needed additional part to reverse view in sight piece. Binoculars give me a better view of moon than this did, and forget about seeing anything else in the sky it all looks the same as it does with the naked eye just brighter. very unstable, nothing tightens enough to hold telescope stable. I Understand that it is cheap but expected more...Disappointed, definately!

                  Customer Q & A

                  8 Questions About This Product
Q: "I wanted to know what is the distance of the telescope. i.e, for how many kms or miles it helps in viewing properly"
A: Zhumell's Zenith 60x600 Telescope will aid viewing out to the limit of its light-gathering ability, which is many millions of miles. You'll be able to see the Moon very clearly with it, and you should be able to pick out polar caps on Mars, as well as Saturn's ring system and Jupiter's largest moons. No Earth-based telescope, however, will give you the kind of views that the Hubble Space Telescope does. Even the Hubble must take time photographs of the sky to get the views it does.
Q: "What is the aperture size of this telescope?"
                  A: Aperture size is 60mm.
Q: "Can you see the moon craters and also Jupiter and its moons like a little dot or the planet and moons in big size?"
A: The Moon will show up very nicely. Jupiter on high magnification will appear about the size of a quarter, while the four largest moons will be pinhead-size.
Q: "While viewing a terrestial object, will the object be seen upside down or right side up?"
A: When viewed through the eyepiece and diagonal, the images will be right side up.
Q: "I am plannig to buy a telescope to apply it on my Kodak z740 Digtal camera, I wonder what is the proper eyepieces to adapt between the telescope and the camera? My aim is to shoot space images (moon and other planets) beside the landscape on?"
A: To adapt your Kodak Z740 to a telescope, we recommend the Zhumell Universal Digital Camera Adapter (small). Here is the URL; just paste it into your browser's address window: http://telescopes.com/products/zhumell-universal-digiscoping-adapter-small-36562.html.
Q: "Do they provide weather proof cases?"
A: The Zhumell Zenith 60x600 Telescope comes in a water-resistant carrying case.
Q: "What is the difference between a refractor and a regular telescope? Also is this telescope good for an 8 year old?"
A: A refractor is one kind of telescope. In fact, it's the type of telescope most are familiar with -- the kind that uses lenses to gather light, focus it and render an image. Other types are reflectors, which use mirrors to accomplish the same thing, and catadioptrics, which use both lenses and mirrors. The Zenith is a great scope for a child. It's small, light, easy to use and nevertheless, quite powerful.
Q: "i want to use this to see the statue of liberty from my condo, will it work or is it just for astronomy stuff"
A: Yes, the Zhumell Zenith 60x600 Telescope will work just fine for viewing things like the Statue of Liberty as well as celestial objects.
