Butter soft. That's what you will feel as soon as you rotate the fine control of this focuser. Immediately after you think "heavy" that is. Because it is heavy and that's something to expect due to the full metal robust construction of this item. The fit is excellent and the workmanship is something to admire as soon as you remove it from the big padded box that protects it well. The black glossy finish of the 2" focuser and the 1.25" adapter are beautiful and look perfect together.
It is the first accessory that I added to a new Celestron C8 advanced SGT due to previous bad experiences I had with the focusers of other cheaper telescopes. This piece comes with compression rings on the 2" side as well as the 1.25" adapter. It features a thumb screw on the bottom that locks the movement if you wish. I think that this is done to protect the settings for astrophotography. There is also another thumb screw on top near the ring that attaches to the scope. This screw helps with the alignment of the focuser, in the sense that you can rotate the whole focuser and everything that is attached to it without unscrewing it from the scope.
The movement is just 1-inch long but the overall focuser will add 3 to 4 inches of length to the optical path of the SCT. Not a big deal, SCTs can take more than that. The weight of the focuser on the other hand can be an issue if you plan to attach a lot of equipment on the scope and subsequently the tripod. None of this is an issue for the C8 SGT. The two work fine as if they were made for each other.
Zhumell does make good products and this is one of them. The price was right too. Get one, you will be glad you did. By the way, it looks that you can motorize it if you are handy.

I am fairly new to this hobby, and I bought this focuser to add to a maksutov I bought recently. Unfortunately the quality in this is lacking. When a diagnal and heavier eyepieces (Hyperions) are inserted into this focuser and you slew your telescope near the zenith, this focuser does not have the ability to 'pull' up the weight of the diagnal and eyepiece. I'd invest a little bit more money and get something nicer.

Comments about Zhumell SCT Dual Speed Telescope Focuser:
My order was quickly shipped and always is with Telescope.com. Their service is always A-1, with at least probably 15-20 astronomy purchases they always are A-1 to deal with. I recieved the focuser yesterday and set it up in daylight on the mountains here (CPC 9.25). The movement and ease of use and installing really seemed great smooth and could not wait to see less mirror shift at night. This is where glitch comes in; when testing during the day scope OTA was fairly level and no problem with focuser movement, then at night in the dark the tube was more verticle making the eyepieces way below the focuser (making the focuser lift more weight so to speak. I was finding that turning the focus knob nothing was happening, the focuser would not lift the eyepiece in (upward movement) but was like gears were slipping.. I was able to assist the movement by pushing on the diagonal and help it pull in, and saw it would move down, extend ok and not just drop on its own. The one knurled knob did nothing as far as tightening gear engagement, but just locked focuser in one position. After parking the scope for the night I remembered reading one of the most recent reviews about a screw he had to tighten for same thing. Well heres the "glitch". it takes a 2.5MM allen wrench to tighten the screw and is recessed right in the middle of gear cross piece. It is not something that is easy like a knurled knob, or any instructions or anything forewarning of the possible problem with gear engagement....
After one nights use that is my only negative input and hopefully will guide someone else in right direction if they encounter the same problem. I usually don't post a review till a few uses of product to make sure it all good but wanted this out there for aother new users. I am really impressed with the short use I was able to get in, it seems very smooth, well made and good threads and just a A-1 focuser,,, I would only suggest putting a 2.5MM allen wrench in the box and a note with how to tighten gear action if necessary.
