Highly recommended. I have the 2" and this is just as good. Saw the crab nebula and orion nebula much better than without this filter. Even took a look at Jupiter and it was even better than with a color filter. It even came with a spectrogram report. If you are looking for an economical UHC filter, you could pay much more and it wouldn't be any better.

Regardless of the amount of light pollution in your area, this UHC filter should be a must buy for those interested in high contrast views of planetary nebula. The other night, I was unable to spot the Owl nebula in my moderately light polluted skies. After putting in this filter, the nebula appeared right where it was suppose to be. The price can't be beat and the quality is great too. For the astronomer on a tighter budget, this is a must buy.
