A lot of bark collars are expensive due to ongoing battery replacement costs. This product takes only a regular store-bought 9V battery. Also, the collar belt part is sturdy and so it does not twist or shift. This is great. Some collars that are more expensive have soft webbing belt parts and the prongs end up facing away from the dog or shifting around the neck away from the larynx. It is an effective, sturdy product.
