Description
Developed in the early 1990s, the Airbus 330 is a very versatile aircraft that operates as a medium- and long-range airliner, as well as serving as a freighter jet, with an additional military mid-air refueling tanker variant available. A Northrop-Grumman derivative of the A330 tanker variant, designated the KC-45, won a U.S. Air Force contract, a rarity for a non-American built modern aircraft. While the contract was later canceled, a number of militaries around the world use the A330 MRTT tanker and transport version.
The aircraft modeled here is the A330-300, a newer model introduced in 1993 that can carry anywhere between 295 and 440 passengers, depending upon layout. It is presented here with a finely detailed Northwest Airlines paint scheme, and its high quality construction will make it a welcome addition to any collection.
