After months of searching for benches and not being impressed by the low quality ones in stores like [@], I decided o spend the extra money to get a good quality solid wood bench. I decided on the Alterra bench because it was "solid wood. The bench arrived damaged, as if the box had been dropped off a truck, (not my main complaint), but what it did do was uncover that the bench was not solid wood at all. The bench was made of MDF -- which is a composite wood product or a high quality particle board. The entire bench was MDF, not one part was solid wood or even birch. I think Hayneedle needs to make sure what they advertise is accurate. They lost a good customer and did not apologize or send a coupon towards my next purchase. Does not seem like they care about retaining customers. I ended up buying a similar bench from [@] because they extended me a 10% off coupon when they heard my story about Hayneedle. I ended up paying the the same amount for the [@] bench. [@] advertises their storage bench as solid woods and some MDF. I do not have an issue with MDF, just false advertising! Sad shopping experience.
