The discription said it had a brass spicket but came with a plastic one.
I thought it woudl be ok but after just 2 months it broke.
Now I will have to remove all of my plants and empty the barrel to replace the plastic spicket.
I suggest you replace at the begining to avoid this hassel.
I still love the barrel and would buy it again.

It was easy to install and I love the plants on top.
The spicket was suposed to be brass but is brass colored plastic. It still works fine.

We loved this rain barrel as it was one of the few that looked good and could hold 100 gallons. When it came in I was surprise how really "big" it is, but it was easy to move to the desired area. We had to get large blocks to raise it and this might be hard for someone who is elderly and without help. The hose at the back crimped making the barrel harder if you want it close to wall/side of house. We had to purchase another hose fitting so it came out futher to keep it from crimping. The hose could be longer, as the barrel is so round and it needs to come around it. We loved the plant area for the plants and the color. It is so funny to see this really big barrel, but that is what we love about it. I would recommend this barrel as it looks good, especially as a planter also.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
