I love the original look of this piece that matches my table. I would sugest a plate under in case of over filling. Looks cool at night.

This fountain was perfect for what I wanted it for. I needed a small tabletop fountain that had some character to it and was not just a ceramic bowl with water in it. The LED light is awesome at night and makes a cool design on the ceiling when the watering is rippling over it. I put the fountain on a small piece if felt to protect my dresser from scratches or in case there was some small splatter of water. I then decorated it with some moss, a rock, and a birds nest and now I love it. Two things: the designs is great, there is almost no way for the water to splatter on the low or mediam setting. I have not used the high setting because medium is more than plenty. As with most fountains, this pump is a little loud....especially when you use it to sleep, it makes you kind of focus on the noise. If need be I will get a new pump like I had to do with other fountains in my home.
