Description
These lovely American Oak Heavy-Duty Bookcases will serve all your storage needs in your home and office. Available in a variety of sizes, these bookcases feature multiple, adjustable, non-bowing shelves made from 3/4-inch premium-grade oak plywood materials and tested to support up to 150 pounds each. Each shelf has mortise and tenon 1/2-inch solid oak detail trim for a beautiful look.
The bookcases are constructed with solid oak tops, face frames, and base and top molding. The top edge of each bookcase has a beveled detail and a serpentine-carved design that adds elegance. Made with screw assembly, the bookcases are strong and durable - not wobbly like cheaper versions. They also have heavy top and bottom trim casings and 1/4-inch recessed backs. Choose from a light oak, medium oak, or dark oak premium multicoat durable lacquer finish to best match your existing decor. Each bookcase is delivered fully assembled. Not sure if Hayneedle is responsible for the problems with our bookcase delivery or not. The bookcases are great -- very sturdy and attractive. The Hayneedle service people were pleasant, helpful, and knowledgeable. However, the bookcases arrived (and shipped) a week later than expected, we almost missed delivery even then, and would not have had our items before the holiday because the shipping company didn't check messages re. scheduling a delivery time, and then the bottom molding was broken off of one bookcase when they finally arrived. I think this was all the shipping company, but Hayneedle needs to know this company didn't perform well.

I have to admit, I was a little hesitant about ordering furniture on-line since you can't touch it or see it in person but, after going over the product description and reading several customer reviews, I decided to give it a go.
I was surprised at how quickly the items were shipped to my home and how well-packaged they were. The bookcases are lovely and well made and I'm very pleased with my purchase.
